West Ham is currently in talks with Sporting Lisbon’s head coach, Ruben Amorim, as they consider whether to extend David Moyes’ contract. Amorim is one of the top contenders for the job, but it remains unclear where West Ham ranks in his options. At the same time, former Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui is being seriously considered as a potential replacement for Moyes.
However, it’s not just West Ham who is eyeing Amorim. Liverpool has identified him as their number one target to replace Jurgen Klopp. Should Amorim choose to go elsewhere, Brentford manager Thomas Frank is also being considered for the position.
Over at Manchester United, the future of current manager Erik ten Hag is being evaluated by the club’s new technical director, Jason Wilcox. Wilcox will assess Ten Hag’s credentials before a decision is made on whether to retain him. If Ten Hag does leave Old Trafford, Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi is a leading candidate to replace him. Additionally, Burnley head coach Vincent Kompany is being considered by Brighton as a potential replacement for De Zerbi.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich is discussing the possibility of appointing De Zerbi as well. Their first-choice target, Julian Nagelsmann, has chosen to extend his contract with Germany, prompting Bayern Munich to explore other options.
Moving on to transfer news, Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr is still interested in signing Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne this summer. The club is expected to contact the Belgian midfielder soon to discuss a potential move.
In other transfer developments, Barcelona has joined Arsenal in their pursuit of Newcastle United and Sweden striker Alexander Isak. The Spanish club hopes to strike a deal with Newcastle as they navigate financial fair play rules. Arsenal and Manchester United are also vying for Crystal Palace and France winger Michael Olise, facing competition from Chelsea, Manchester City, and Juventus.
Speaking of Arsenal, the club is expecting to make three or four marquee additions to their squad this summer as part of a major overhaul. Their main target is Sporting Lisbon and Sweden striker Viktor Gyokeres. Liverpool has also shown interest in Gyokeres, scouting him during Sporting’s recent win over Vitoria.
Manchester United, on the other hand, has set their sights on Everton and England Under-21s defender Jarrad Branthwaite. The club is eager to secure an early deal for the promising young talent.
In the goalkeeping department, Real Betis is looking to sign former Manchester United and Spain goalkeeper David de Gea. The 33-year-old has been a free agent since leaving Old Trafford at the end of last season. Meanwhile, Chelsea’s Thiago Silva will be leaving the club when his contract expires this summer.
Lastly, Crystal Palace is interested in Leicester City and Nigeria midfielder Wilfred Ndidi on a free transfer. The 27-year-old could be a valuable addition to the team.
On a separate note, Bayern Munich is keeping a close eye on Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong. However, the midfielder’s high salary could pose a challenge to any potential move.
