Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho has once again trolled Barcelona following their defeat to Real Madrid in the last El Clasico of the season. Real Madrid eliminated Barca from the Copa del Rey in remarkable fashion, with Karim Benzema scoring a hat-trick at the Nou Camp and Vinicius Jr also getting on the scoresheet as Los Blancos landed a historic 4-0 win. Garnacho, who has previously poked fun at the Spanish giants by copying Pedri’s binocular celebration earlier this season, wasted no time in taking a pop at Barcelona for a second time after Vinicius Jr posted a picture of himself celebrating the win on social media with the caption: “Remontada y Final = REAL MADRID.” Garnacho replied, denouncing Barca in the process, simply writing: “Normal.”
Garnacho celebrated Real Madrid’s win by putting his hands up to his face to make a pair of binoculars, as Pedri often does when he scores for Barcelona. He even posted a picture of himself doing the celebration on social media, further angering the Blaugarana. He wrote as a caption in another brutal swipe: “The big team goes through.” Garnacho was born in Madrid and his loyalties are quite clear between Spain’s big teams. Though the winger has appeared to pledge his international allegiance to Argentina having trained with the senior side, he is yet to play for the World Cup winners.
The 18-year-old came up through Atletico Madrid’s youth system before signing for United in 2020. United and Barcelona met in the Europa League with Erik ten Hag’s men booting them out of the competition in the first knockout stage. Real Madrid, meanwhile, will play Osasuna in the Copa del Rey final after thrashing Barcelona on Wednesday night. Carlo Ancelotti’s men were a goal down from the first leg before mounting a stunning comeback in the second leg. Benzema is the first Real player to score a hat-trick in El Clasico since 1987.
