Diaz’s Injury Concerns Alleviated as he Trains with Colombia
Jurgen Klopp had expressed concerns over the availability of Luis Diaz due to a groin injury sustained during Liverpool’s match against Manchester United. However, just a day later, Diaz joined his Colombia teammates for training, indicating that the injury may not be as serious as initially feared.
The winger played an impressive 114 minutes at Old Trafford on Sunday, and Klopp revealed his concerns about Diaz’s groin after the match. Nevertheless, Diaz traveled to London to join the rest of the Colombia squad for their upcoming friendlies.
On Monday, Diaz focused on recovery work in the gym while the rest of the team trained outdoors. But the following day, pictures emerged of Diaz participating in training alongside his teammates, suggesting that he is back to business as usual despite the injury worries.
Although this development eases some of the worry surrounding Diaz’s injury, Klopp will undoubtedly hope that the winger is managed carefully during Colombia’s two friendlies against Spain and Romania. Diaz has already played nearly 1,000 minutes since January 31, and his workload will only increase during international duty and upon his return to Liverpool.
Diaz was one of three players that Klopp noted as injury concerns after the defeat against Manchester United. Cody Gakpo was another player, but he has joined up with the Netherlands squad. Darwin Nunez, on the other hand, remains in Merseyside due to a hamstring issue. However, reports suggest that Nunez’s injury will have settled by the time Liverpool face Brighton on March 31.
Overall, it seems that Diaz’s injury worries have subsided for now as he trains with the Colombia national team. Liverpool fans will be relieved to see their talented winger back in action and hope that he returns to Anfield unscathed and ready to continue his impressive performances.
