Barcelona’s Xavi Criticizes Players for Poor Finishing in Draw Against Valencia
Xavi Hernandez, the head coach of Barcelona, expressed his disappointment with his team’s poor finishing in their 1-1 draw against Valencia on Saturday night. Despite taking the lead through Joao Felix, Barcelona failed to secure the victory as Hugo Guillamon equalized for Valencia in the 70th minute.
Barcelona had several opportunities to score, with Ilkay Gundogan and Raphinha both missing clear chances in the second half. Xavi was visibly frustrated with his side’s lack of cutting edge in front of goal.
Barcelona’s Struggles with Finishing
Xavi emphasized the recurring issue of poor finishing that has plagued Barcelona throughout the season. He stated, “We deserved to win, we did everything. What happened over the past weeks with regard to effectiveness was repeated. We have to be one of the teams with the worst finishing in Europe. I am very frustrated today.”
The draw leaves Barcelona in third place in La Liga, trailing leaders Girona by six points. Real Madrid, currently in second place, have the opportunity to take the top spot if they win against Villarreal on Sunday evening.
