West Ham Reportedly Interested in Signing Serhou Guirassy in January
West Ham United has reportedly joined the list of clubs interested in signing Serhou Guirassy in the upcoming January transfer window. The striker has been in high demand after scoring an impressive 18 goals in 15 games for Stuttgart this season. He has found the back of the net 16 times in the Bundesliga, placing him second in the Golden Boot race behind Harry Kane of Bayern Munich. What makes Guirassy an attractive prospect is his £15 million release clause, which is considered a bargain in today’s market.
Interest from Multiple Clubs
Aside from West Ham, other clubs such as Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund, Newcastle, and Fulham are also considering making a move for the Guinea international. Guirassy has expressed openness to a potential move to Old Trafford, as United is eager to strengthen their squad’s attacking options. West Ham, in particular, is in need of a prolific striker after selling Gianluca Scamacca to Atalanta last summer. Currently, Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen have been deployed in the center-forward role with success.
West Ham’s Ambitions
West Ham is determined to improve their position in the Premier League table and make progress in the Europa League knockouts. Despite some disappointing results, they currently sit in eighth place and have the opportunity to overtake Manchester United when they face them on Saturday. Before that, they have a Carabao Cup quarter-final match against Liverpool on Wednesday night. However, Guirassy may not be available for Stuttgart’s next game as he will be participating in the Africa Cup of Nations.
