Tottenham in Talks with Chelsea to Sign Conor Gallagher in January Transfer Window
Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly in discussions with Chelsea to secure the signing of Conor Gallagher during the upcoming January transfer window. This news comes after Spurs expressed interest in acquiring Gallagher’s services during the summer transfer window, but a deal could not be reached before the deadline.
Gallagher, who has been one of Mauricio Pochettino’s standout performers this season, has received strong support from Chelsea fans who want to see him remain at Stamford Bridge. However, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, Tottenham has reignited negotiations with Chelsea and hopes to complete a £35 million deal at the start of the transfer window.
The potential signing of Gallagher would be crucial for Tottenham, as they are set to lose two key midfielders, Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr, who will be participating in the Africa Cup of Nations starting on January 13. Additionally, Tottenham is open to selling Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who has attracted interest from Juventus and Napoli.
In addition to Gallagher, Tottenham is also actively seeking a new central defender due to injuries to Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven. Talks have been held for potential deals involving Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo and Genoa’s Romanian international Radu Dragusin.
However, Tottenham manager, Ange Postecoglou, has downplayed expectations ahead of the January transfer window, emphasizing the need to continue building the team. He stated that while they will explore opportunities in January, their focus is on creating a side that will lead them to success.
