Thiago Silva: Chelsea Star Turns Handyman While Injured at Home

Date:

Thiago Silva, the Chelsea star, has been keeping himself busy while he is out injured. The 38-year-old suffered a knee injury during the Blues’ 2-0 defeat to Tottenham last month and has been ruled out for up to six weeks. Despite his injury, Silva has remained a visible presence at Stamford Bridge, supporting his team-mates from the stands. However, he has also been productive at home during his time on the sidelines.

Silva’s wife, Isabelle, shared a video of her husband doing some handiwork around their house. In the video, Silva can be seen climbing a ladder while wearing a puffer jacket. He laughed when he realised that he was being filmed. Isabelle wrote in Portuguese: “He stays at home and the bug from ‘Bob the Builder’ bites.”

Silva’s wife is his biggest fan, but she has never been shy in criticising his Chelsea team-mates and coaches. Recently, she liked a tweet that labelled Graham Potter a “deadbeat coach”. Last season, she was claimed to have called struggling forward Timo Werner a “verme”, which means “maggot” in Portuguese.

Silva married Isabelle in 2015, and the couple have two sons together named Isago and Iago. After his transfer to Chelsea in 2020, the family moved to London. Since joining the Blues, Silva has won the Champions League, UEFA Super Club and FIFA Club World Cup.

Silva’s injury is a blow for Chelsea, who are currently fighting for a top-four finish in the Premier League. However, the Brazilian defender is expected to return to action soon and help his team in their quest for silverware.
