Sofyan Amrabat Open to Joining ‘Two or Three’ Clubs This Summer
Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat is open to joining ‘two or three’ clubs this summer with no deal with Manchester United agreed yet. The Morrocco international is thought to be on United’s list of midfield targets, but reports in Italy claim Abrabat has already agreed personal terms over a move to Old Trafford.
The 26-year-old is another to have previously played under Erik ten Hag during his time at FC Utrecht with Fiorentina believes to be looking for a fee of around £25million this summer. Mahmoud El Boustati, Amrabat’s representative, has confirmed he expects his client to leave La Viola in the coming weeks but says there are a number of options being considered with interest also emanating from Saudi Pro League sides.
‘Quite a few clubs are interested in Sofyan,’ El Boustai told Voetbal Primeur. ‘It is now a matter of making the right choice. He is still a Fiorentina player and he reported to Fiorentina on Monday.
‘If something interesting comes up, Sofyan is open to the step. Fiorentina too. There are two, three clubs that he is open too.’
He added: ‘There is interest from Saudi Arabia. But there is no concrete offer.’
Reports also claim Liverpool are interested in signing Amrabat with Jordan Henderson poised to leave the club and Fabinho’s future also uncertain.
United have spent just over £100m this summer on bringing Mason Mount and Andre Onana to the club from Chelsea and Inter Milan respectively. They remain in talks with Atalanta over 20-year-old forward Hojlund but given the financial restraints on their summer plans, are not willing to pay more than £60m for the Dane.
United insist they have other options in mind should Atalanta not back down in their valuation. Further funds can be raised through player sales with Fred, Scott McTominay and Harry Maguire among those who could be sold in the coming weeks. West Ham are thought to have approached United over the Scotland international while Fred is the subject of interest from Fulham.
