Crewe Alexandra’s Young Goalkeeper Booth, 19, Hospitalized with Collapsed Lung Due to Injury
Crewe Alexandra’s young goalkeeper, Tom Booth, is currently recovering in the hospital after suffering a collapsed lung due to a chest injury during a match against Tranmere Rovers. The 19-year-old shot-stopper was forced off the pitch after a heavy collision just after halftime in the League Two clash.
The incident occurred when Booth was diving to save at the feet of Tranmere’s striker, Charlie Jolley. Unfortunately, he was hit with a blow that resulted in a collapsed lung. Booth was immediately rushed to Arrowe Park Hospital, where he has been receiving treatment since then.
The club has provided an injury update on the young goalkeeper, stating that he is now feeling better and is expected to be discharged from the hospital on Wednesday. Crewe Alexandra has expressed their wishes for a speedy recovery and looks forward to seeing Booth back on the pitch.
Although Booth will miss the upcoming match against Crawley Town this weekend, he is hopeful to receive the all-clear to resume light training towards the end of next week. The club remains optimistic about his recovery and eagerly anticipates his return to the field.
Booth has been a part of Crewe Alexandra for over ten years and made his first-team debut against Grimsby in April 2023. Since mid-December, he has made nine consecutive appearances for the club and managed to keep three clean sheets during his time in the League Two side.
Despite this setback, Booth’s talent and dedication are evident, and fans can expect to see him back between the sticks in training towards the end of next week. Crewe Alexandra stands by their young goalkeeper and wishes him a swift recovery as he works towards getting back on the pitch.
Football fans eagerly await Booth’s return, hoping to witness more of his promising performances and contributions to the team.
