Dele Alli’s future at Everton has been the subject of much speculation, with the midfielder currently on loan at Turkish club Besiktas. However, Alli has returned to Merseyside to undergo injury rehabilitation, prompting questions about his future with the Toffees. Besiktas manager Senol Gunes claimed that Alli didn’t return to Istanbul this year “because of the rain”, but this was denied by Alli’s camp. Everton manager Sean Dyche has now offered an update on Alli’s situation, stating that the player is injured and will be out for some time. Dyche also addressed recent photographs of Alli allegedly inhaling nitrous oxide, stating that while he can only guide players on what is good for them, they ultimately have choices to make in their lives.
Alli played just 13 times for Everton before being loaned out to Besiktas, where his time hasn’t gone to plan. However, Dyche suggested that Alli may still have a future with the club once his injury has been dealt with. The midfielder’s injury is expected to take several weeks to heal.
