William Saliba Believes Arsenal Would Have Won the League Last Season if He Had Not Got Injured

Arsenal defender William Saliba has claimed that his team would have won the Premier League title last season if he had not suffered an injury. The young centre-back missed the Gunners’ last 11 matches of the season, which proved to be a crucial period for the team.

After Saliba picked up a back injury, Arsenal won their first two games against Crystal Palace and Leeds. However, the team then went on a four-game winless streak and conceded 11 goals during that period. Manchester City took control of the title race and did not allow Arsenal to make a comeback.

Saliba believes that things would have been different if he had been fit. In an interview with Telefoot, he stated, “Yeah, it’s clear with me (fully fit), Arsenal could have been champions, but injuries are a part of football. Last year, I had a good season. Unfortunately, I got injured during the year and at the final sprint.”

Arsenal fans were delighted with Saliba’s confidence and belief in the team. One fan wrote, “I live for this confidence.”

After Saliba’s last game of the season, a 3-0 win against Fulham, Arsenal were five points clear of Manchester City. However, they ended up finishing five points behind City after winning only five of their final 11 games.

During Saliba’s absence, Arsenal suffered three defeats, which is the same number of defeats they had in the 27 games with Saliba in the side. This season, with Saliba featuring in all of their Premier League matches, Arsenal remains unbeaten.

Despite concerns about his fitness leading up to the match against Bournemouth, Saliba was named in the starting lineup and played a crucial role in Arsenal’s victory.

Conclusion

William Saliba’s injury last season had a significant impact on Arsenal’s title challenge. The young defender believes that if he had not been injured, Arsenal would have won the league. While injuries are a part of football, Saliba’s absence during the crucial final stretch of the season proved to be detrimental to the team’s performance. Arsenal fans appreciate Saliba’s confidence and belief in the team’s abilities. With Saliba back in the lineup this season, Arsenal remains unbeaten and will be hoping to mount a strong title challenge.

His presence in the defense has proven to be crucial, and his confidence in the team’s abilities is inspiring. With a strong squad and a determined mindset, Arsenal has the potential to compete for the Premier League title. Only time will tell if Saliba’s belief in the team’s capabilities will translate into success on the pitch.
