Wrexham AFC’s co-owners, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, were present at the Racecourse Ground as the team secured promotion to the English Football League (EFL) after a 15-year absence. The Red Dragons defeated Boreham Wood 3-1 to clinch the top spot in the National League. Reynolds and McElhenney were visibly nervous throughout the game but couldn’t hide their delight at seeing their vision come to fruition. Hollywood actor Paul Rudd was also in attendance, drinking beer with supporters before the match kicked off. The achievement meant a lot to the club’s owners, with Reynolds holding his head in his hands and McElhenney wiping away tears. The duo have also worked wonders in the local community after gaining the buy-in of previously disillusioned supporters.
