Ryan Gravenberch, the 20-year-old Bayern Munich ace, refused to respond to speculation linking him with a move to Liverpool following Manchester City’s 4-1 aggregate win against the Germans in the Champions League. Gravenberch failed to play a single minute over the two legs as he continued his difficult debut campaign at the Allianz Arena. The midfielder was considered one of the brightest prospects in Europe when he completed his move to Bavaria from Ajax in 2022. Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag attempted to sign Gravenberch on his appointment at Old Trafford, but a deal to Bayern had already been agreed.
Now, just a year into his time in Germany, Gravenberch is keen on leaving the Allianz after failing to become a starter under Julian Nagelsmann or Thomas Tuchel. Liverpool are leading the interest in the midfielder and he’s said to be particularly enthusiastic over a move to Anfield, given it’s an opportunity to work with Jurgen Klopp. However, despite his anger at being overlooked again, Gravenberch refused to respond to the speculation following his side’s defeat to City. According to Bild, the midfielder was asked about a move to Anfield but did not want to pour fuel on the fire directly after his side’s exit. Bayern are believed to be keen on keeping the Dutchman, but Liverpool will test the waters, such is their need for midfield reinforcements. The Reds are also interested in Chelsea ace Mason Mount, who has one year left on his deal at Stamford Bridge and has rejected the club’s last two proposals.
