Reiss Nelson is set to sign a new long-term contract with Arsenal, committing his future to the club. The academy graduate had been expected to leave the club this summer when his current deal expired, with Brighton and AC Milan both interested in signing the former England Under-21 international winger. However, despite making only a few first-team appearances this season following his loan spell at Feyenoord last term, Mikel Arteta has always publicly maintained his admiration for the player. According to The Athletic, the Spaniard’s faith in Nelson has been reflected in the offer of a four-year deal that the 23-year-old is now ready to sign. Nelson becomes the latest Arsenal youngster to extend his stay at the club, with Bukayo Saka, Aaron Ramsdale, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhaes also committing to Arteta’s project.
