This week, Manchester City and Real Madrid are set to face off in a titanic Champions League semi-final first leg. Pep Guardiola’s side will be looking to make amends for their last trip to the Spanish capital, where they were unable to hold onto a two goal aggregate lead and were eventually beaten by a Karim Benzema penalty in extra-time. Victory over Los Blancos, who are aiming for a record-breaking 15th Champions League title, could put City in a great position to be crowned European champions with either AC Milan or Inter Milan awaiting in the final. The game will kick off at 8pm BST and will be broadcast live on BT Sport 1 and BT Sport Ultimate with coverage beginning at 7pm. Those without BT Sport can purchase a monthly pass for £29.99 to watch the match via a live stream. Madrid will be without Ferland Mendy due to a calf injury and Eder Militao is suspended, potentially leaving David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger to play at centre half with Eduardo Camavinga at left back. Nathan Ake is a doubt for Manchester City due to a calf injury, with Manuel Akanji or Aymeric Laporte potential replacements. Kyle Walker could be deployed at fullback to deal with the threat of Vinicius Jr. John Stones, Rodri, Jack Grealish and Bernardo Silva could all return to the starting XI. Real Madrid and Manchester City have met eight times in their history, with each club registering three wins and two draws. The last meeting was Madrid’s 3-1 semi-final second leg victory last year. Betfair currently has Real Madrid at 9/4, Manchester City at 6/5 and the draw at 13/5.
