Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi’s Absence in Al-Nassr vs Inter Miami Match Explained

The highly anticipated friendly match between Al-Nassr and Inter Miami has left fans disappointed as both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi will miss out on the final showdown. The meeting, dubbed ‘The Last Dance,’ was set to be a historic moment as the two football legends shared the pitch possibly for the last time.

Ronaldo, who has played for top clubs like Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus, has been recovering from a calf injury. This injury forced Al-Nassr to cancel two friendlies in China last week, much to the frustration of fans in Shenzhen. Unfortunately, the 38-year-old Portuguese star has not fully recovered in time for tonight’s match and was not named in the matchday squad.

On the other hand, Messi was expected to be involved in the game but is also absent from the Inter Miami squad. Reports suggest that the 36-year-old Barcelona and Argentina legend is struggling with an injury of his own. This comes as a disappointment for fans who were eagerly awaiting the clash between these two iconic players.

Additionally, Sadio Mane will also not be involved in the match for Al-Nassr following Senegal’s heartbreaking elimination from the Africa Cup of Nations against Ivory Coast on Monday.

Although Ronaldo and Messi will not be present, there are still familiar names in the Al-Nassr XI. Former Manchester City star Aymeric Laporte, who recently spoke about players having second thoughts about moving to Saudi Arabia, will be playing alongside former Manchester United full-back Alex Telles.

Meanwhile, Inter Miami will feature three other Barcelona legends in Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets. This will provide fans with some consolation as they get to witness these renowned players in action.

Al-Nassr’s manager, Luis Castro, revealed earlier this week that Ronaldo would be missing the match due to his ongoing recovery. He expressed hope that Ronaldo would soon join the team for training and mentioned his absence from the game. The absence of both Messi and Ronaldo will be felt, as they have faced each other 35 times over their decade-long rivalry, with Messi claiming victory in 16 of those encounters.

While fans may be disappointed about the absence of these football icons, there are still plenty of exciting moments to look forward to in the Al-Nassr vs Inter Miami match. The clash between the two teams will undoubtedly provide an entertaining spectacle for football enthusiasts around the world.
