Sergio Ramos Presents Shakira with Latin Grammy Awards, Adding Fuel to the Fire in Pique Feud

The legendary Real Madrid player had the honor of presenting popstar Shakira with two Latin Grammy Awards on Friday night. While this may seem like ordinary news, the context surrounding it adds a significant layer of intrigue.
Shakira and Barcelona icon Gerard Pique went through a highly publicized and acrimonious split last summer after being together for 11 years. Ramos and Pique, although teammates at the international level for Spain, have been fierce rivals in the El Clasico matches for over a decade.

Interestingly, one of the awards presented by Ramos to Shakira was for a song widely regarded as a “diss-track” aimed at Pique. This added fuel to the fire in their ongoing feud.
Shakira, who collected three awards that night, was photographed alongside Sevilla defender Ramos after the event in Spain. She even made a subtle reference to her difficult split with Pique, who is now in a relationship with Clara Chia Marti following allegations of an affair.
“I also want to share this with my Spanish public,” she said, acknowledging the support she has received throughout the ups and downs of her personal life.
Unsurprisingly, football fans were quick to focus on Ramos’ involvement in the Shakira/Pique drama. One fan on social media described it as “generational s***housery,” while another quipped, “Pique thought El Clasico was over, but Ramos never left the pitch.” A third fan humorously remarked that Ramos giving the song of the year award to Shakira at the Latin Grammy Awards for the diss against Pique was one of the funniest moments of 2023.
