Rafael van der Vaart believes Ryan Gravenberch is better than Jude Bellingham in every aspect, but feels the Bayern Munich midfielder is not yet ready for a move to a big club like Liverpool. Van der Vaart himself made an intermediate step from Ajax to HSV before joining Real Madrid, and believes Gravenberch should take a similar step by being loaned back to Ajax for a season. Fellow pundit Marco van Basten was even more opposed to a potential move to Anfield, saying it is “much too big” for the young Dutchman. He believes players need to have good people around them and push themselves to succeed at the top clubs. Despite this, Liverpool have still been linked with a move for Gravenberch, who has started just one Bundesliga match since his summer move from Ajax.
