Kylian Mbappe has informed Paris Saint-Germain that he will not be extending his contract, which is set to expire in 2024. This has prompted the club to consider selling him this summer. The French sensation had signed a new deal with the Ligue 1 giants last summer, but has now informed PSG in a letter that he will not be activating the clause to extend his deal until 2025. This has infuriated PSG, who will not allow Mbappe to walk away for nothing and will look to cash in on him this summer if they are unable to convince him to extend his current deal.
Mbappe’s long-term future at the club has come into doubt on more than one occasion this term, with reports in France and Spain claiming he was pushing to leave the French capital with Real Madrid or Liverpool his preferred destinations. The source of his frustrations was claimed to be a number of broken promises from the club’s hierarchy, including those over new signings in the summer window and his own role in the team. Mbappe would later insist he was ‘very happy’ at the club.
