PSG Joins £107m Victor Osimhen Transfer Battle, Hurting Man Utd, Chelsea, and Arsenal

Reports suggest that Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has joined the race to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen. The 24-year-old has been in blistering form for Napoli this season, scoring 19 goals in 22 Serie A appearances. His impressive performances have attracted interest from several top clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal. However, according to Italian transfer expert Nicolo Schira, PSG is also keen to secure his signature.

Osimhen joined Napoli from Lille in 2020 for an initial fee of £62 million after scoring 18 goals in one season with the French club. Napoli values him at £107 million, and they stand to make a significant profit if they decide to sell him. The Italian side is currently on the verge of winning the Serie A title, with an 18-point lead over second-placed Inter Milan after 26 matches.

PSG’s football director, Luis Campos, previously worked with Osimhen at Lille and was instrumental in bringing him to the club from Belgian side Charleroi in 2019. Campos may be tasked with rebuilding PSG’s attack around Kylian Mbappe this summer, with Lionel Messi and Neymar potentially leaving the club. PSG is also reportedly interested in signing Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva and his Portugal teammate Goncalo Ramos.

Napoli is not only performing well in Serie A but also in the Champions League. They lead their round of 16 tie with Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 from the first leg last month, with the second match set to take place on Wednesday this week. Osimhen scored in the first leg triumph, adding to his goal against Ajax in the group stage.

In conclusion, PSG’s interest in Victor Osimhen highlights his impressive performances for Napoli this season. While several top clubs are also keen on signing him, PSG’s football director’s previous experience with the player could give them an edge in securing his signature. Napoli values Osimhen at £107 million, and they stand to make a significant profit if they decide to sell him.
