Reports suggest that despite winning the league, Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti could be replaced by Rafael Benitez. Spalletti, who has achieved legendary status after ending the club’s 33-year wait to be crowned Serie A champions, has a contract that expires next summer. Although Napoli recently triggered a 12-month extension, negotiations with club president Aurelio De Laurentiis have reportedly frozen, and the pair are not on speaking terms. As a result, Benitez has been linked with a potential return to the Serie A champions. The ex-Liverpool boss previously had a two-year spell in charge of Napoli in 2013, guiding them to Coppa Italia success before leaving for Real Madrid. Benitez has been out of work since being sacked by Everton in January 2022.
