# Mauricio Pochettino’s Full Throttle Style of Play Impresses Match of the Day 2’s Shay Given
Chelsea’s new manager Mauricio Pochettino has made an immediate impact on the Premier League, with his full throttle style of play impressing Match of the Day 2’s Shay Given. Following their 1-1 draw with Liverpool, Given praised the Blues for their performance, noting that they had “really gone for it”.
The Argentinian manager has been in charge since the start of the season and has already made a big impression on the team. His high-energy, attack-minded approach has seen Chelsea become one of the most exciting teams to watch in the league.
Given said: “Mauricio Pochettino has come in and he’s really gone for it. He’s got Chelsea playing a full throttle style of football and it’s great to watch. They’re playing with a lot of energy and enthusiasm and they’re really taking the game to their opponents.”
The former Tottenham Hotspur manager has also been praised for his tactical acumen and his ability to get the best out of his players. He has been able to bring out the best in players such as Eden Hazard, who has been in fine form since his return from injury.
Given added: “Pochettino is a great tactician and he’s getting the best out of his players. He’s got Eden Hazard back to his best and he’s been a real threat going forward. He’s also got a good balance in midfield with N’Golo Kante and Jorginho both doing well.”
The Blues have made a strong start to the season, picking up seven points from their opening four games. They have been impressive going forward, scoring nine goals in those four matches, while also keeping three clean sheets.
Given concluded: “Chelsea have made a great start to the season and they look like they could be real contenders this year. Pochettino has brought a new energy to the team and they look like they could be a real force this season.”
