The Argentine head coach has now revealed that his assistant is set to return against Blackburn Rovers in the Carabao Cup last 16 on Wednesday. ‘He will be available tomorrow,’ Pochettino said on Tuesday. ‘Of course I think he deserved to be fined and to be punished. He broke the rules. It’s true. I need to apologise to Brentford and their coaching staff because you cannot go into their area.’

Pochettino added: ‘He knows he made a mistake. He wanted to win. He wanted to help the team and get the ball back and start to play. The attitude of Jesus, I want this type of behaviour but he forget there was a new rule if you go into the other technical area you get sent off.’
