Pep Guardiola believes that Arsenal will win all of their remaining three games as they battle Manchester City for the Premier League title. City are currently one point ahead of their rivals, but have a game in hand. The Gunners had lead the title-race for much of the campaign, however their hopes were dented by draws against Liverpool, West Ham and Southampton, followed by a 4-1 defeat at the Etihad. They have since responded well, beating Chelsea and Newcastle to keep the pressure on City who also have to navigate a Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid. Guardiola, speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday, said: ‘I think definitely they are going to win their three games. I would like them to drop points to be honest but I think they will get nine points. There are four games left in the Premier League and it’s really important to be there and keep our destiny in our hands.’
City travel to Everton on Sunday, followed by Chelsea at home and then away fixtures at Brighton and Brentford. They also have to contend with the second-leg of their Real semi-final as well as the FA Cup final against Manchester United that takes place just five days after the Premier League concludes. Guardiola added: ‘Brighton is one of the toughest places to go and it was a big impact on Everton’s mood. In the last games everyone plays for something and will be tough. It can happen. They scored the first goal in the first minute, a surprise for the two early goals. The physicality Everton have is really really good. Anything can happen.’ Arsenal’s run-in begins against Brighton at the Emirates on Sunday, before a trip to Nottingham Forest and a final day home game against Wolves.
