The club’s owners have decided to wait until the summer to appoint a permanent replacement for Graham Potter, with Frank Lampard serving as caretaker until the end of the season. However, Merson believes that the club should appoint a new manager immediately, with Julian Nagelsmann, Luis Enrique and Mauricio Pochettino all being considered for the role. Merson is also surprised that Chelsea appear to be open to offloading Mason Mount this summer, as he is considered one of their best players.
