Nottingham Forest Sets Price for Murillo for Arsenal and Chelsea
Nottingham Forest has informed Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool of the price they must pay to sign Murillo in the upcoming summer transfer window. The 21-year-old Brazilian center-back has impressed in his debut Premier League season, catching the eye of the three Premier League heavyweights.
Murillo arrived at Forest in August from Corinthians, signing a five-year deal. Despite Forest’s financial issues, they may be forced to sell Murillo due to a four-point deduction for breaking profit and sustainability rules. The club is looking to offload stars this summer to avoid further problems.
Forest has set an asking price for Murillo, aiming to secure a fee ‘in excess’ of £50m for the talented defender. They paid £11m to sign him but believe he could eventually be worth as much as £70m. Murillo has made 27 appearances for Forest, providing an assist in a 3-1 win over Newcastle United in December.
Murillo’s age makes him an attractive prospect for Chelsea, who prioritize transfers for young players on long contracts. However, Arsenal and Liverpool are also interested in convincing Murillo to join them, especially given Chelsea’s recent struggles. Arsenal and Liverpool are currently involved in a tense Premier League title race with Manchester City, while Chelsea sits in 11th place.
It will be interesting to see where Murillo ends up in the summer transfer window, as all three clubs vie for his signature.
