Jose Mourinho Denies Naming Greatest XI, Calls It ‘Fake News’
Jose Mourinho, the renowned football manager, has dismissed claims that he named his greatest XI players from his illustrious career. Mourinho, who has had successful stints at top clubs including Chelsea, Porto, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Tottenham, clarified his position on the matter.
Mourinho, currently the head coach at Serie A side Roma, addressed the issue during an appearance on The Obi One podcast, hosted by his former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel.
Earlier, a media outlet had shared an image of Mourinho’s supposed ‘all-time XI’ team, which gained significant attention. The team included eight Chelsea legends, along with former Real Madrid players Mesut Ozil and Cristiano Ronaldo, and former Inter Milan captain Javier Zanetti.
However, the post has since been deleted, and Mourinho took to Instagram to dismiss it as ‘fake news’.

“I never ever did this. I always refused to do it because it is impossible for me. Fake news.
“I never did it, and I will never do it. I have had numerous top players, but what matters most is what those players gave to me. Players who gave me everything: quality, effort, blood, and soul. They are all part of my best eleven. All of them. That’s why I always declined to choose my best eleven.
“I love my players, I respect my players.
