Maurizio Sarri Rejects Offer from Nottingham Forest
Former Chelsea and Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri has declined an offer from Nottingham Forest, according to reports. Sarri resigned as Lazio manager in March after a run of poor results, including five defeats in six matches and an exit from the Champions League at the hands of Bayern Munich.
Sarri, who guided Lazio to a second-place finish in Serie A last season, left the club with them sitting ninth in the league, seven points away from a European qualification spot. Despite Forest offering him a three-year contract to replace Nuno Espirito Santo, Sarri has reportedly decided to wait until the summer to return to football.
Meanwhile, Forest have launched an appeal against a four-point deduction in the Premier League for breaching profitability and sustainability rules. The deduction has left Forest in 18th place, just one point behind Luton Town with nine games remaining in the season. Since Santo took over in December, Forest has managed three wins in 12 Premier League games.
It will be interesting to see where Maurizio Sarri ends up next and how Nottingham Forest will fare in their fight to avoid relegation. For more updates on this story and other sports news, make sure to follow Metro Sport on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
