Manchester United Eyeing Brentford Forward Ivan Toney
Manchester United could be entering the race to sign Brentford forward Ivan Toney this summer, alongside Chelsea and Arsenal. Toney, who is expected to leave Brentford at the end of the season with one year left on his contract, has been in fine form since returning from an eight-month ban in January, scoring four times in ten appearances.
The 28-year-old is also set to make his full England debut in an upcoming friendly against Belgium, aiming to secure a spot in Gareth Southgate’s European Championships squad. Valued at around £80m by Brentford, this summer represents the last opportunity for the club to achieve a high price for Toney before he becomes free to sign a pre-contract agreement with other clubs in January 2025.
With United looking to bolster their attacking options following Anthony Martial’s impending departure, Toney has emerged as a potential target. According to Fabrizio Romano, discussions are ongoing internally at United to decide on their preferred type of striker – experienced or young – with Toney being one of the names on the market to watch.
As the transfer window approaches, it will be interesting to see if Manchester United make a move for Ivan Toney and how the competition with Chelsea and Arsenal unfolds in the pursuit of the talented forward. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
