Mauricio Pochettino insists Trevor Chalobah is in his plans at Chelsea

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that Trevor Chalobah is in his plans at Stamford Bridge and that ‘no one will decide’ the defender’s future but him. The 24-year-old failed to land a move away from the club in the final week of the summer transfer window, despite interest from Bayern Munich and Nottingham Forest, who both bid for Chalobah.

Chelsea were happy to cash in on the defender, not least to raise some much needed funds following their record outlay. But, following his failure to land a move, reports this week claimed Chalobah had been frozen out at the club.

Pochettino has rejected those claims, and says he will be the only person that makes a decision like that. ‘T’revoh Chalobah is in my plans, no one else is going to make decisions for me,’ said Pochettino. ‘I have enough knowledge to be involved in a decision. Everyone in the squad is part of my plans.’

Chalobah’s Future at Chelsea

Chalobah has been at Chelsea since he was a child, joining the club’s academy in 2005. He has made 18 appearances for the Blues, but has struggled to establish himself as a first-team regular. He has spent time on loan at Watford, Middlesbrough and Ipswich Town, and was expected to leave the club this summer.

However, with his future still up in the air, it remains to be seen what will happen with Chalobah. He could still leave the club in January, or he could stay and fight for his place in the team. Either way, it looks like Pochettino will be the one making the decision.

Pochettino’s Plans for Chelsea

Pochettino has been at Chelsea since November 2019, and has already made an impact at the club. He has led the Blues to the top of the Premier League table and has also guided them to the Champions League final. He is now looking to build on that success and turn Chelsea into a major force in European football.

The Argentine coach has already made some big signings this summer, including Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech. He is also looking to bring in more players in January, with reports linking him with a move for Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland.

Conclusion

Trevor Chalobah’s future at Chelsea is still up in the air, but it looks like Mauricio Pochettino will be the one making the decision. The Argentine coach has already made an impact at Stamford Bridge and is looking to build on that success by bringing in more quality players in January. It remains to be seen what will happen with Chalobah, but it looks like his future is firmly in Pochettino’s hands.
