Jadon Sancho Set to Rejoin Dortmund on Loan Deal
Jadon Sancho is on the verge of ending his Manchester United nightmare by joining Dortmund on a six-month loan deal. This move comes just two-and-a-half years after Sancho left the Bundesliga giants for United in a £71m deal.
Struggles at Manchester United
The England playmaker has failed to live up to his reputation at Old Trafford and has not played for the club since a 3-2 win against Nottingham Forest in August. Sancho has been training alone after a falling out with Erik ten Hag, where he accused the Dutchman of being a liar after criticizing his performances in training.
Approval for Loan Deal
United has now approved Sancho’s departure to Dortmund, with the German club set to re-sign the playmaker on a six-month loan deal. While United had preferred to sell Sancho, they had been short of suitors.
Potential Permanent Move
Dortmund would be interested in signing Sancho on a permanent basis, as they know he previously thrived at the club. However, United has chosen not to include an option to buy in Dortmund’s loan deal for Sancho for two reasons.
Firstly, United believes a successful loan spell could drive up Sancho’s price tag in the summer. Secondly, with INEOS yet to have their 25% stake in United confirmed, the club is in no position to make a decision over Ten Hag’s future.
Return to Old Trafford
If a new manager is in place for the 2024/25 season, there is a possibility of Sancho returning to Old Trafford, where he still has three years left on his deal.
