The England international is set to miss the next two months of action after suffering a muscular injury. It comes at the worst possible time for United, who are also without Tyrell Malacia.

United have quickly scoured the market for replacements and have made approaches for the likes of Marcos Alonso, Marc Cuccurella and Sergio Reguillon. But, with time running out in the transfer window, United are casting a wide net.

Gianluca Di Marzio Says United Have Enquired Over Spinazzola

Gianluca Di Marzio says that has seen United enquire over Roma left-back Spinazzola. The 30-year-old has been a mainstay in the Roma side since joining in 2019 and is a Italy international.

Jose Mourinho has endured a difficult summer in the eternal city and is unlikely to sanction Spinazzola’s departure, particularly so late in the window.

Nicolas Tagliafico Also Under Consideration By United

Nicolas Tagliafico, the Lyon full-back, is another name under consideration. Fabrizio Romano says the former Ajax ace is on United’s shortlist as Ten Hag worked with the Argentine in the Dutch capital.

He joined Lyon from Ajax in 2022, making 35 appearances last season.
