Manchester United Fans Call for Resigning of Former Stars to Save Season
Manchester United fans are urging the club to bring back two former stars, Antonio Valencia and Juan Sebastian Veron, in an effort to salvage their struggling season. The Premier League champions were recently seen together at a Legends tournament, sparking hope among supporters.
In a photo shared by Valencia, the 38-year-old expressed his admiration for Veron, calling him a “great player and great person.” Veron, 48, responded warmly, saying it was good to see Valencia doing well.
Upon seeing the post, Manchester United fans expressed their desperate desire to see the duo return to the team and help turn the season around. The recent return of Jonny Evans to the club has further fueled these hopes, as he has become an important player for Erik ten Hag during the team’s defensive crisis this season.
Manchester United Fans’ Pleas
Fans took to social media to voice their hopes for the return of Valencia and Veron:
- “New signings needed: a midfield general and a quality winger. Hello, yeahhhh!”
- “Wasn’t sure about Jonny Evans, but now we’re talking.”
- “Valencia could still do a solid job for us at RW.”
- “Veron could play a role now.”
- “We need a January signing with all the injuries happening.”
During the legends competition, Valencia wore the No.25 shirt once again, which he described as a “great pleasure” on his Instagram. Valencia made 339 appearances for Manchester United, scoring 25 goals and providing 62 assists. Veron, on the other hand, played 82 times under Sir Alex Ferguson, scoring 11 goals and contributing 15 assists.
Manchester United’s next game is against Everton on Sunday.
