Manchester United has reportedly set a price tag of £34 million for Mason Greenwood as he attracts interest from LaLiga clubs Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. The 22-year-old winger has spent this season on loan at Getafe, where he has impressed with his performances. In LaLiga, Greenwood has played 21 times, scoring five goals and providing five assists.

Despite his success on loan, Greenwood will not play for Manchester United again. He remains under contract at Old Trafford until 2025, but the club is looking to sell him this summer. German outlet Fussball News suggests that United is hoping to receive around £34 million for the young talent.

Greenwood’s loan spell at Getafe has not been without controversy. He joined the Spanish club last summer, shortly after charges of attempted rape, assault, and coercive control against him were dropped. Recently, Getafe lodged a complaint with Spanish authorities over an alleged slur aimed at Greenwood by Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham. The club accused Bellingham of calling their loan player a “rapist.” LaLiga officials were reportedly surprised by Getafe’s decision to escalate the matter, which was not included in the referee’s notes. The case has been referred to the Spanish football federation, and a judge will investigate the claim.

Meanwhile, Greenwood continues to perform on the pitch. In his most recent outing, he played the full 90 minutes as Getafe drew 1-1 with Villarreal. The young English international has shown great potential during his loan spell, and his performances have caught the attention of top clubs in LaLiga.

If Bellingham is found guilty of the alleged slur, he could face a ban of between four and ten games. The incident has sparked controversy and drawn attention to the issue of player conduct both on and off the field.

In a rare interview, Greenwood spoke about his experience at Getafe, describing it as the “best feeling so far.” The loan club has embraced him and taken him under their wing, providing a supportive environment for his development.

As the summer transfer window approaches, the future of Mason Greenwood remains uncertain. With Manchester United placing a significant price tag on him, it will be interesting to see which club is willing to meet their demands and secure the talented winger’s services.
