Manchester City have achieved a historic treble, winning the Champions League final 1-0 against Inter Milan in Istanbul. Rodri’s stunning strike was enough to secure the victory for Pep Guardiola’s side, making them just the second English team in history to win a continental treble after Manchester United in 1998/99. The game proved to be a much tougher night than many had expected, with Inter fantastically nullifying their opponents with their pressing and always looking problematic on the counter. Despite City being heavy favourites, chances for each side were few and far between. Kevin De Bruyne was forced off injured with a suspected hamstring injury during the first-half, but Rodri’s goal eventually proved to be the difference. Inter had to change tactics with 20 minutes to go and nearly equalised through Federico Dimarco, but Ederson pulled off several incredible saves to deny them. The last touch of the game saw Ederson make one more remarkable save from a corner, ensuring City’s victory. Follow Metro Sport for the latest news on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
