Erling Haaland to Miss Manchester City’s Premier League Clash Against Newcastle United
Manchester City’s Erling Haaland will not be available for the team’s upcoming Premier League match against Newcastle United on Saturday. Haaland has been sidelined for the past eight matches due to a foot injury but had returned to training before the FA Cup win over Huddersfield Town.
During a press conference, manager Pep Guardiola confirmed that Haaland would not be making his return for the Newcastle game. Guardiola also mentioned that Jack Grealish had been sick but was expected to be back for the match.
On a positive note, Guardiola expressed confidence in starting Kevin de Bruyne against Newcastle. De Bruyne recently made his comeback from a hamstring injury during the FA Cup match. Guardiola stated that he saw De Bruyne perform well in the minutes he played and had no reservations about starting him.
Guardiola acknowledged that De Bruyne had a longer recovery period than initially anticipated, but he is now getting better and will benefit from the upcoming training sessions in Abu Dhabi.
