Liverpool saw one academy player become a fixture at first-team level this season while a handful showed potential, with Stefan Bajcetic now looking primed for a long-term role under Jurgen Klopp. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Curtis Jones and Caoimhin Kelleher have all broken through from the academy to establish themselves in the senior squad, while Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams have also seen success. With this in mind, who could be options for Klopp next season?
Marcelo Pitaluga is a 20-year-old goalkeeper who has spent the season training with the first team and travelling to Anfield on matchdays. He saw his time on loan at Macclesfield blighted by an ankle ligament injury, but he could be next in line to support Alisson. Harvey Davies is another option, with the 19-year-old Scouser making headway with the under-21s and under-19s throughout the campaign. He has been a regular in training and travelling on matchdays, and has kept seven clean sheets in 16 games.
Luke Chambers is an 18-year-old left-back and centre-back who has developed rapidly in recent years. He has been a regular in training and travelling on matchdays, and Klopp even deployed him at centre-back in the friendly defeat to Lyon in December. Conor Bradley is a 19-year-old right-back who has impressed out on loan at Bolton, helping them fire into the League One playoffs with seven goals and six assists in 51 games in all competitions.
Tyler Morton is a 20-year-old midfielder who has played 46 times for Blackburn, assisting four goals, before foot surgery ended his campaign early. He has already made nine appearances for the Reds at first-team level, and was handed a new long-term contract in January. Ben Doak is a 17-year-old right winger who was given an opportunity in the Carabao Cup clash with Derby in November, and has remained a staple in first-team training ever since. He has five appearances for the Reds so far, and could step in more often next season as backup to Mohamed Salah.
