Liverpool on the Verge of Third League Cup Final Under Jurgen Klopp
Liverpool is just 90 minutes away from reaching their third League Cup final under the management of Jurgen Klopp. In order to secure their spot, Klopp has made four changes to the team for the second leg against Fulham.
The Reds have the advantage of momentum and confidence, as well as a valuable one-goal lead heading into the second leg at Craven Cottage. This puts them in a strong position to secure their place in the final.
One positive for Liverpool is the return of Andy Robertson, who has been named in the squad for the first time since early October. However, he will start on the bench, with Caoimhin Kelleher continuing in goal for his 11th appearance of the season.
The defensive lineup remains unchanged, with Joe Gomez at left-back and Jarell Quansah partnering Virgil van Dijk at center-back. Conor Bradley completes the defense.
In midfield, Alexis Mac Allister anchors the team, with Harvey Elliott and Ryan Gravenberch alongside him. Up front, Darwin Nunez leads the line after his impressive performance over the weekend. He is joined by Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz.
On the bench, Liverpool has the option of bringing on Robertson and Diogo Jota if needed.
Liverpool won the first leg 2-1 and will be hoping to wrap up the tie within 90 minutes. However, if the aggregate score ends in a draw, extra time and penalties will be required to determine the winner.
The winner of this tie will face Chelsea in the final at Wembley on February 25.
