Liverpool Star Alexis Mac Allister Reveals What Sparked Heated Argument Between Pep Guardiola and Darwin Nunez
Liverpool star Alexis Mac Allister has finally shed light on the heated argument that took place between Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola and teammate Darwin Nunez during their recent match. The clash occurred towards the end of Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
Guardiola, known for his calm demeanor on the sidelines, has had previous altercations with Liverpool. However, this time he clashed with Nunez, and it took Jurgen Klopp to hold the Uruguayan striker back.
Mac Allister has now revealed that the argument started when Nunez took a light-hearted comment from Guardiola too seriously. According to Mac Allister, the comment made by Guardiola was minimal, but Nunez responded to it, leading to the confrontation.
The incident seemed amusing to Mac Allister, who mentioned that both Guardiola and Nunez are emotional individuals. He added that if he had realized the seriousness of the situation, he wouldn’t have laughed. However, he believes that both Guardiola and Nunez respect each other and that nothing was wrong at that moment.
Mac Allister went on to explain what caused the argument. It began with a situation where Erling Haaland headed a ball past the goalpost. Guardiola commented on how lucky Liverpool was, and then in the final moments of play, Lucho Diaz attempted a header that was saved. Nunez then told Guardiola that now they were the lucky ones, which escalated the situation.
Despite the argument, Mac Allister emphasized that it was a calm exchange and nothing serious occurred.
