Liverpool Injuries vs Aston Villa

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez will not be available for the Premier League clash against Aston Villa due to inflammation in the tendon of his toe. Klopp also added that the Uruguayan hasn’t trained and that the injury is “very painful” for the attacker. Nunez has now had six different injuries in his first season at Liverpool, and is unlikely to be seen on the pitch again this campaign. However, the issue isn’t a long-term one and he should be fine to undergo a full pre-season, barring any new problems.

Klopp also reaffirmed that Roberto Firmino has trained this week ahead of his last fixture at Anfield, before leaving in the summer. Meanwhile, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner are available to sign off with minutes at Anfield. Oxlade-Chamberlain hasn’t been in the squad since April 1, so a cameo appearance is the best we can hope for. Milner is more likely to feature and will probably come off the bench, as he has done in each of the Reds’ last seven matches.

Liverpool’s available squad vs. Aston Villa includes goalkeepers Alisson, Kelleher, and Adrian; defenders Van Dijk, Konate, Matip, Gomez, Williams, Alexander-Arnold, Robertson, and Tsimikas; midfielders Fabinho, Henderson, Jones, Elliott, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Arthur; and forwards Salah, Gakpo, Jota, Diaz, Firmino, and Carvalho.
