“Leicester City’s £100m Training Ground with 14 Pitches and Golf Course Named After Late Chairman”

In 2020, Leicester City revealed their impressive new £100million training complex, which is on par with any other in the country. The late Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha had envisioned transforming a former golf course in Leicestershire into a futuristic facility, and his son and current chairman, Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, delivered on that legacy. The complex features 14 full-size training pitches, nine of which have been preserved from the original golf course and are available for use by players like Jamie Vardy. Additionally, there are 21 training areas, a 499-seater pitch for youth team matches, and a swimming pool with space for a restaurant. The seven-building complex includes a dedication to Vichai, with the administrative and medical hub named after him. Former Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers praised the facility as the most significant investment in the club’s history and a testament to the owners’ commitment to developing both players and staff. The women’s team now trains at the former Belvoir Drive facility, which had been Leicester’s training ground since 1964.
