# Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp Prays for Luiz Diaz and His Family After Reports of Kidnapping in Colombia
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has expressed his hope and prayers for Luiz Diaz and his family after reports that his parents had been kidnapped in Colombia. The news comes after Liverpool’s 3-1 win against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup on Thursday night.
The 21-year-old Colombian midfielder, who is currently on loan at Spanish side Almeria, has yet to comment on the reports. However, Klopp has spoken out in support of the player and his family.
## Klopp’s Support for Luiz Diaz and His Family
Speaking after the match, Klopp said: “I heard about it. It’s really serious and we all hope and pray that everything will be fine and they can sort it out.”
Klopp went on to express his sympathy for Diaz and his family, saying: “It’s a really difficult situation and we all feel for him. We are here to help him in any way we can.”
The Liverpool manager also praised Diaz for his professionalism despite the difficult situation, saying: “He is a really professional young man and he is doing really well. We are all here to support him.”
## Kidnapping in Colombia
Kidnapping is a serious problem in Colombia, with the country recording more than 1,000 kidnappings in 2019 alone. The majority of these kidnappings are carried out by criminal gangs, who often target wealthy individuals in order to extort money from them.
In recent years, the Colombian government has taken steps to combat the problem, including increasing police presence in areas where kidnappings are common and introducing tougher laws for those convicted of kidnapping.
## Match Report: Liverpool 3-1 Nottingham Forest
Despite the news of Diaz’s parents’ kidnapping, Liverpool were able to secure a 3-1 win against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup on Thursday night. Goals from Curtis Jones, Divock Origi and Neco Williams helped the Reds to victory, while Forest’s only goal came from Anthony Knockaert.
The win means that Liverpool are now through to the quarter-finals of the competition, where they will face either Arsenal or Leicester City.
