Bayern Munich’s Sam Kerr Returns to Scotland Squad for Nations League Group Games
Bayern Munich midfielder Sam Kerr has made a comeback to the Scotland squad after recovering from an injury. She will be participating in their upcoming Nations League group games against Belgium and England.
Missed Out on Previous Matches
Kerr, who is 24 years old, was unable to play in the two defeats against the Netherlands in October due to her injury.
Returning Players
Joining Kerr in the squad are Emma Mukandi from London City Lionesses, Abi Harrison from Bristol City, and Brogan Hay from Rangers.
Must Win Both Games
Scotland’s team, led by Pedro Martinez Losa, currently sits at the bottom of Group A. In order to avoid relegation, they must win both of their upcoming matches.
Current Standings
Scotland currently has one point, while England has six and Belgium has seven. These standings will determine the outcome of the inaugural group stage.
Upcoming Matches
The Scottish team will face Belgium on Friday, 1 December, followed by a match against England at Hampden four days later.
Players Dropped from the Squad
Uncapped Rangers defender Kathryn Hill, striker Kirsty Howat, and Celtic midfielder Jenny Smith have been dropped from the squad. Additionally, Chelsea Cornett, the Rangers midfielder who was a late addition in the previous matches, is also not included.
Injured Midfielders
Caroline Weir from Real Madrid and Emma Watson from Manchester United are still unavailable due to long-term injuries.
