Talks between Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy and Bayern Munich executives regarding the future of Harry Kane have been postponed until Monday, according to talkSPORT. The face-to-face meeting, which was originally scheduled for Friday, has been pushed back. Bayern Munich had previously made a £70 million offer for the England captain, but it was rejected by Tottenham. However, they are now preparing an improved bid.
Kane’s advisers have indicated that he is open to joining the Bundesliga champions. The striker, who turns 30 today, is in the final year of his Tottenham contract and has reportedly declined a new deal worth £400,000-a-week. Levy values Kane at £100 million, while Bayern Munich is willing to pay up to £86 million.
Bayern Munich has the option to wait and strike a pre-contract agreement with Kane in January, which would allow them to sign him on a free transfer. However, they may face increased competition as Paris Saint-Germain is also interested in signing Kane. Additionally, if Kane becomes available for free, Manchester United could re-enter the mix for his signature.
Levy is known for being a tough negotiator and had previously denied Kane a £125 million move to Manchester City in 2021. Since then, Kane has surpassed Jimmy Greaves as Tottenham’s all-time leading goalscorer with 280 goals in all competitions.
Despite his incredible service to the club, Kane has not won any major trophies during his 19-year tenure at Tottenham. Many expected him to push for a move within England, but Levy appears more open to engaging with foreign clubs.
In terms of Premier League goals, Newcastle legend Alan Shearer holds the record with 260 goals, while Kane is second with 213 goals.
For Kane, a move to Bayern Munich or Paris Saint-Germain would offer him the opportunity to compete for major honors on the domestic and European stage. However, if he becomes available for free, Manchester United could provide a tempting option with their financial resources and history of success.
Levy’s decision to postpone the meeting with Bayern Munich suggests that negotiations are still ongoing and that there is a possibility of a deal being reached. The next few days will be crucial in determining Kane’s future and whether he will remain at Tottenham or move on to a new challenge.
As the saga continues, football fans around the world eagerly await the outcome of these talks. Will Harry Kane secure a move to Bayern Munich or Paris Saint-Germain? Or will he stay at Tottenham and continue to chase his dream of winning silverware with his boyhood club? Only time will tell.
