James Maddison Discovers Tottenham Teammate Through YouTube Highlights
James Maddison, the talented midfielder who joined Tottenham from Leicester last summer, recently admitted that he had never heard of one of his new teammates and had to resort to watching his YouTube highlights.
A Season of Change at Tottenham
With the departure of legendary striker Harry Kane and the arrival of manager Ange Postecoglou, there has been a great deal of change at Tottenham. Postecoglou has brought back the good times to North London, and despite a recent run of four winless games, there is a sense that the club is on the right track.
Maddison’s Impressive Performance
Tottenham’s recent recruitment has proven successful, with James Maddison standing out as one of Postecoglou’s best signings. The England midfielder joined from relegated Leicester for £40 million and made an immediate impact with three goals and five assists in 11 Premier League games before suffering a bad ankle injury.
The Discovery of Guglielmo Vicario
However, Maddison revealed that he had to familiarize himself with one of his new teammates, goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, before joining Tottenham. Maddison confessed that he had never heard of Vicario and had to watch his YouTube highlights to assess his skills. Maddison was pleasantly surprised by Vicario’s shot-stopping abilities and praised him as a brilliant goalkeeper.
Vicario’s Impressive Performance
Prior to his £16 million move from Empoli in July, few in England were familiar with Guglielmo Vicario. However, the 27-year-old goalkeeper has exceeded expectations, conceding only 20 goals in 14 games and keeping four clean sheets. Maddison also commended Vicario’s ability to save penalties and shots in training, highlighting his skills as a difficult goalkeeper to score against.
