Manchester United Struggling to Offload Jadon Sancho in January Transfer Window
Manchester United is facing difficulties finding a club willing to take Jadon Sancho off their hands in the January transfer window. Both Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig have ended their interest in the winger.
The 23-year-old remains in exile at Old Trafford, unable to be selected by Erik ten Hag and training separately from the rest of the first team.
Sancho has not played for Manchester United since August and may never play for the club again. Ten Hag publicly criticized Sancho’s performances in training, leading to his exclusion from the Premier League clash with Arsenal. However, Sancho denied the accusations, claiming he was being made a scapegoat.
The standoff continues as Sancho refuses to apologize to Ten Hag for a chance at reintegration. Manchester United is now eager to sell him in January, but his high wages, estimated at £350,000-a-week, are proving to be a hurdle.
Borussia Dortmund, Sancho’s former club, does not want to re-sign him in January, while RB Leipzig has been put off by his salary demands.
Manchester United is desperate to offload Sancho but is unwilling to loan him to another Premier League club for fear of harming their own campaign. If he is to leave on loan to a foreign club in January, Manchester United will have to contribute to his wages.
