Jadon Sancho watches Manchester United U18s clash with Nottingham Forest
Manchester United star Jadon Sancho was in attendance for the club’s U18s clash against Nottingham Forest as his team-mates arrived at Old Trafford for the Premier League clash against Brighton.
The midfielder was not named in United’s matchday squad to take on the Seagulls at the Theatre of Dreams following his falling out with Erik ten Hag. Though Sancho has deleted a tweet that accused Ten Hag of using him as a ‘scapegoat’ following United’s defeat to Arsenal before the international break, he is still refusing to publicly apologise to the Dutchman.
Sancho has been put on an individual training programme away from the first team, and Ten Hag is refusing to confirm whether he will play for the club again.
Sancho watches on
And, while Ten Hag’s first team squad arrived at around 11am for their 3pm kick-off against Brighton at Old Trafford, Sancho was watching the club’s U18s at Carrington. They were in action against Nottingham Forest, with United reduced to 10 men before half-time.
Sancho’s absence means he cannot take personal advantage of Antony’s unavailability. The Brazilian has been placed on leave after a series of allegations against him from three women. Facundo Pellestri is expected to start on the right-flank, while Rasmus Hojlund could be given his full debut.
What does this mean for Sancho?
Sancho’s absence from the first team squad and his presence at the U18s match suggests that he is unlikely to feature for Manchester United anytime soon. Ten Hag’s refusal to confirm whether Sancho will play for the club again indicates that the midfielder’s future at Old Trafford is uncertain.
It remains to be seen whether Sancho will publicly apologise to Ten Hag and whether the Dutchman will accept it. If Sancho does not make amends with Ten Hag, then it is likely that his time at Manchester United will come to an end.
