Ibrahima Konate Hopeful Over Liverpool’s Push to Sign Khephren Thuram
Liverpool have already begun their summer business by signing Alexis Mac Allister in a £35 million deal from Brighton last week, and Jurgen Klopp is keen to bolster his midfield options even further. The Reds are currently in talks over a deal for Khephren Thuram, the son of France’s World Cup winner Lilian Thuram and the younger brother of Marcus Thuram.
Konate Hopeful of Thuram Joining Liverpool
Ibrahima Konate, who plays for RB Leipzig, has made it clear that he would be keen to see the 22-year-old central midfielder head to Anfield this summer. In a quickfire ‘yes or no’ interview with Telefoot, Konate was asked if Thuram will be playing for Liverpool next season, to which the defender replied: ‘Yes, I hope so.’
Konate Praises Thuram’s Progression
Speaking to RMC Sport earlier this week, Konate described Thuram’s progression as ‘incredible’ and says he was surprised by the midfielder’s technical ability. Konate said he would be very happy for Thuram to come to Liverpool and he would take him under his wing and do everything for him to progress and become the player he wants to become.
Conclusion
It remains to be seen if Liverpool will be able to complete a deal for Khephren Thuram this summer, but Ibrahima Konate is certainly hopeful. The RB Leipzig defender has praised Thuram’s progression and says he was surprised by the midfielder’s technical ability. Klopp will be hoping that he can get the deal done so that he can add another quality midfielder to his ranks ahead of the new season.
