Fulham Confident of Signing Brazilian Midfielder Andre in January
Fulham is reportedly in advanced talks with Fluminense over the potential signing of Brazilian midfielder Andre. The 22-year-old has attracted interest from top Premier League clubs such as Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham, and Arsenal. Fulham is confident in securing the £30 million-rated player’s signature in the upcoming January transfer window.
Andre first caught the attention of English clubs last summer, but Fluminense was determined to keep him until the conclusion of the Copa Libertadores. After winning the competition for the first time ever with a 2-1 victory over Boca Juniors, Andre played a crucial role and secured his first piece of silverware.
However, the midfielder could now leave the club he joined as a 12-year-old in 2013. Fulham, who has experienced a dip in form this season following their 10th place finish last year, sees Andre as a potential solution to their scoring struggles. With only 10 goals scored so far, Fulham hopes that Andre’s arrival will boost their attacking prowess.
Andre has an impressive record at Fluminense, scoring four goals and providing three assists in 163 appearances since his senior debut in 2020. He has also earned three caps for Brazil’s national team and was included in the preliminary squad for the 2022 World Cup. Despite his success, Andre remains focused on his current club but admits his admiration for the Premier League.
“I follow the Premier League a lot,” Andre said in an interview with The Guardian. “It’s a very competitive league that demands a lot from players. But today my dream is to live day by day here in Fluminense. I have a long contract until the end of 2026, and I really like being here. I’m still young, only 22 years old, so there’s no need for me to think too far ahead. I just need to keep doing my best and see what happens at the end of the season.”
