# Fulham Boss Marco Silva Baffled by Defeat to Manchester United
Fulham boss Marco Silva was left scratching his head after his side’s 1-0 defeat by Manchester United at Craven Cottage. The loss was a bitter pill to swallow for the Londoners, who had been hoping to build on their recent good form.
The result leaves Fulham in the relegation zone, and Silva was left to ponder what might have been. “It’s difficult to understand,” he said. “We had some good opportunities, but we couldn’t take them. We need to be more clinical in front of goal.”
The game was settled by a solitary goal from United’s Bruno Fernandes, who scored from the penalty spot in the second half. It was a cruel blow for Fulham, who had been the better side for much of the game.
“It’s a tough result to take,” Silva said. “We had a lot of the ball, and we created some good chances, but we just couldn’t find the back of the net. We have to learn from this and move on.”
The defeat leaves Fulham in 19th place in the Premier League table, and Silva knows his side must start picking up points if they are to avoid relegation. “We have to keep fighting,” he said. “We have some tough games coming up, but we have to stay positive and keep believing in ourselves.”
The result was a welcome boost for Manchester United, who had been struggling for form in recent weeks. Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was delighted with his side’s performance, and praised his players for their resilience.
“It was a great result for us,” he said. “Fulham are a good side, and they made it difficult for us. But we showed great character and determination to get the win. It’s a great way to start the season.”
The victory moves Manchester United up to sixth in the table, and Solskjaer is confident his side can continue their good form. “We have some big games coming up,” he said. “But if we continue to show this kind of spirit and determination, then I’m sure we can have a successful season.”
